Fundraising Policy

All procedures and policies will be in compliance with the Bylaws of River Bourgeois Community Services Society.

River Bourgeois Community Services Society shall conduct ongoing fundraising to support the objects of the Society as outlined in the Memorandum of Association.

  1. All fundraising activities must be approved by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.
  2. Funds raised may be restricted or non-restricted. Restricted funds shall only be used for a specified purpose and accounted for separately. Example: funds raised specifically for the Visitation Parlour, Cenotaph and/or Light House.
  3. Ongoing fundraising may include but is not limited to:
    •        Annual festival, winter festival, etc.
    •        Bingo’s
    •        Canada Day Celebrations
    •        Concerts
    •        Dances
    •        Halloween Haunted House
    •        Meals-Brunches, Pot luck dinners
    •        Ticket sales
    •       Other activities
  4. River Bourgeois Community Services Society may apply for grants to accomplish its fundraising activities
  5. Any gifts, donations, bequests and/or grants must be approved and accepted by River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.
  6. Financial donations may be accepted by River Bourgeois Community Services Society to further its fundraising, and tax receipts with a yearly cumulative total of $10.00 or more will be issued in January/February of the following year.
  7. When River Bourgeois Community Services Society holds a merchandise bingo and the
    proceeds go to any River Bourgeois organization, that organization shall be responsible
    for the hall rental fee and other operating costs as deemed by the River Bourgeois
    Community Services Society treasurer. No two merchandise bingos will be booked within
    21 days of each other. Merchandise bingos will be booked at the discretion of the
    fundraising chairperson(s) and after confirmation of the availability of volunteer workers.

Any exception to the above policies/procedures must be approved by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.

The above policies/procedures supersede any policies/procedures previously put in place by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.
