All policies and procedures herein will be in compliance with the Bylaws of River Bourgeois Community Services Society.

Tara Lynne Community Center Rental Policy

River Bourgeois Community Services Society shall rent the Tara Lynne Community Center to groups and/or individuals for planned events including but not limited to weddings, meetings, dances and other special activities for fund raising purposes.

  1. River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors reserves the right to exercise priority for use of the hall for its fundraising and service functions in the community.
  2. Hall Capacity:
    • 2.1  Upstairs 285
    • 2.2  Downstairs 120
  3. Rental Fees:
    • 3.1 Weddings, Dances and Events serving alcohol (includes security) $300.00
    • 3.2 Events not serving alcohol $100.00 per floor (not including kitchen facilities)
    • 3.3 Meetings and Bingo $100.00 (not including kitchen facilities)
    • 3.4 Use of Kitchen if any of the following appliances are used for any period of time: stove/oven, large refrigerator, microwave, plate warmer, food warmer, dishwasher, etc $100.00
  4. Liquor license for wine & bar shall be at user’s expense and responsibility to obtain from Nova Scotia Alcohol & Gaming. Copy of license must be provided to bar chairperson one week prior to the event and posted prior to the opening of the bar.
  5. Absolutely no unauthorized consumption of any alcoholic beverage not purchased from the River Bourgeois Community Services Society is permitted. No alcohol is permitted outdoors with the exception of the deck and/or any pre-determined areas as per Alcohol & Gaming Regulations.
  6. River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors reserves the right to waive the initial cost of the hall rental fee (excluding the kitchen fees) for charity/non-profit fund-raising or benefit, on the condition that the fund-raising event realizes a net profit of under $500.00, and verification of such is provided. If on the other hand, the event realizes a net profit of $500.00 or more, then the non-profit group or event organizer shall be required to pay a fee equivalent to 10% of the net profit (up to the maximum hall rental fee whichever is less) in lieu of the regular rental fee, to offset the operational costs associated with the use of the hall.
  7. If the cost of the hall is waived by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors, the individual and/or group is responsible for their own set up, cleaning and are required to reset tables and chairs to original set up or as directed by janitor.
  8. There will be no charge for rental of the hall and/or kitchen when the hall is being utilized by the River Bourgeois Catholic Women’s League for funeral receptions and its’ yearly community anniversary dinner.
  9. Hall tables and chairs shall not be loaned out or rented
  10. The person signing the rental agreement is responsible for any and all damages incurred during their function (along with the cost & repairs of said damage.)

Any exception to the above policies/procedures must be approved by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.

Tara Lynne Community Center Hall Rental Agreement

The above policies/procedures supersede any policies/procedures previously put in place by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.

This rental agreement, made the _______ day of ___________, 20_____, by and between River Bourgeois Community Services Society and _________________________________________ (hereinafter known as Renter.)

It is hereby agreed the River Bourgeois Community Services Society does grant permission to Renter to use the Tara Lynne Community Center Hall to be used for the purpose of ________________________ _____________________________________________.

River Bourgeois Community Services Society reserves the right to enter the premises during the term of the agreement for the purpose of inspection.

It is agreed that the cost of the use of our social hall will be $________.  A deposit of $_________ is to be paid to River Bourgeois Community Services Society when the agreement is signed and is non refundable in case of cancellation. The balance is to be paid seven days prior to the date of the use of the building.

Rental Fees for the Hall:
Weddings, Dances & Events serving alcohol (includes security) $300.00
Events not serving alcohol $100.00 per floor
Meetings and Bingo $100.00
Use of the kitchen $100.00

  1. Renter is responsible for the conduct of all persons utilizing the premises during the terms of this agreement when an approved Security Company is not on site.
  2. It is the responsibility of the Renter to obtain a valid liquor license from Alcohol and Gaming if alcohol is being served. Absolutely NO unauthorized alcoholic beverages will be permitted on the premises.
  3. No furnishings are to be removed from the building at any time.
  4. Gambling is prohibited on the premises.
  5. If the kitchen is rented it must be cleaned. Appliances and surface areas must be cleaned and all food removed and garbage placed in the outside bin.
  6. Only painters tape, no tacks or nails may be used on the walls, ceiling or floors.
  7. No live candles or open flames are permitted inside the hall at any time.
  8. River Bourgeois Community Services Society is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
  9. Use will be limited to specific areas stipulated.
  10. There is absolutely no smoking in the building, or within 16 feet of any entrances
  11. It is understood that the Renter will be responsible for any and all damages.
  12. This rental agreement can not be assigned to anyone other than the person signing the agreement.

Renter understands that he/she has read and approved this agreement.
