Bursaries Policy

All procedures and policies will be in compliance with the Bylaws of River Bourgeois Community Services Society.

Bursaries Policy

River Bourgeois Community Services Society shall give two $500.00 bursaries from the Tara Lynne Touesnard Bursary Fund Account to graduating students from the Richmond Academy and/or Ecole Beau-Port on an annual basis until such time as the funds in that account are depleted. Application deadline will be established each year. Successful recipients will be notified by mail & named graduation night. Proof of registration in a post secondary institution must be presented to the River Bourgeois Community Services Society treasurer by the student before funds will be released. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised by mail and thanked for their interest.

To apply a student must submit a resume indicating all their volunteer & extra curricular activities along with a covering letter answering “Why I should receive this bursary and what are my future plans?” River Bourgeois Community Services Society to notify Richmond Academy and Ecole Beau-Port to post bursary yearly through the school web site. All applications are to be received by the Richmond Academy and/or Ecole Beau-Port Student Services. A selection committee of three will be appointed by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors each year to approve the two (2) successful candidates as per the criteria set out below:

First Preference

  1. Graduating student from Richmond Academy and/or Ecole Beau-Port pursuing a post secondary musical education.
  2. Student who is volunteering his/her time in extra curricular activities thus benefitting the school and/or their fellow students.
  3. Must be in financial need.

Second Preference:

  1. Graduating student from Richmond Academy and/or Ecole Beau-Port pursuing a post secondary education.
  2. Student who is volunteering his/her time in extra curricular activities thus benefitting the school and/or their fellow students.
  3. Must be in financial need.

Should there be no applicants meeting the above noted criteria, funds will not be disbursed for that given year.

Any exception to the above policies/procedures must be approved by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.

The above policies/procedures supersede any policies/procedures previously put in place by the River Bourgeois Community Services Society Board of Directors.
